Peru
peru2The work in Peru began through contacts made through Jerry Westefield. He developed relationships with a Pastor Jaime in Tarapoto and later with Pastor Alfonso. As time went by, short term mission teams began to go into the area. As things grew Gary King and Jerry traveled together. Brazil opened and Jerry moved to Brazil with his family to start a work there. With Jerry in Brazil, Gary expanded the team to Jason King and Bill Lewis, all who continue to work in the region.
Gary and Jerry met a number of pastors and they began to inquire of ATM.
Through successive trips and ministry to the pastors, several of them wanted to affiliate with ATM. These men were church planters, such as Pastor Wilman and Pastor Eloy, and numerous young men such as Jhon Martin.
ATM began holding schools of training, Leadership 101, 201, and 301 have been taught in week long seminars. The attendance at these conferences fills the auditorium. Gary King and Bill Lewis, who have developed the schools and have taught them, always takes a team with them who then ministers to the attendees at the schools. The teams have always done an excellent job of blessing the people.
The Peruvian pastors have now expanded the work to other cities. They also are active church planters and have started churches in several villages around Tarapoto. The city of Moyobamba has been the site of two schools and the work seems to be expanding in that direction.
